Elevations

Elevations plans are a 2 dimensional view of a home. These are drawn to full scale in AutoCAD and plotted in 1/4"=1'-0" scale. Plans include front, rear, both left and right side elevations. The elevations specify ridge heights, the positioning of the final fall of the land, exterior finishes, roof pitches and other details that are necessary to give the home its exterior architectural styling.

Terms and definitions
Elevation- An elevation consists of 4 regular side views of a house. Those views include the front, back, left and right side.  The elevation views are two dimensional and visually describe the detail on the sides of the house.  Siding, roofing, doors, windows, lights, railings, step and other exterior features are included on elevation drawings. Also notes are added to the drawings to provide clarity.
