What is an Oblique Drawing?

An oblique drawing represents an object in all the three dimensions in the form of drawings. This type of drawing is generally used by the marketing department to showcase a product and its features in as real a manner possible.

Oblique Cavalier

This type of oblique drawing is drawn using all full size height, width and depth dimensions. 

Oblique Cabinet 

This type of oblique drawing is drawn using the full Height dimension, full width dimension and HALF THE DEPTH DIMENSION.  

Oblique Drawing Distortion

Features that are drawn on the front view of each type of oblique drawing will appear as its true feature.  Circles, curves and arcs will have true radius, diameter and curve dimensions. Features such as circles, arcs and curves that appear on the top and side views will look distorted and will not have consistent radius and diameter dimensions.
